I have built gDetour - a tool to test DMX modes on real devices via channel remapping. Use a small DMX mode on the console and test it on a full/larger DMX mode of a real fixture. This can be done even if the smaller DMX mode does exist in the real device. The device DMX channels are taken from their GDTF definitions.
