Define a par can

  • To start with an empty GDTF file, select the Empty template from the start screen.
  • Go to geometries tab.
  • To add a geometry of the par can's body, click the Add top level geometry button.
    The Add Geometry pop-up opens.

  • Enter Body as the geometry Name.
  • Enter the length, width, and height of the body in Geometry size.
  • Select New Conventional as the model from the Select Model list.
  • Select Normal Geometry as the Geometry type from the dropdown menu.

  • Click OK. The geometry is added in the layout view.
Hint:
In order to read and edit the properties depending on your display size, resize the geometry sidebar.
  • To add a child geometry, click Add child geometry.
  • Enter Beam as the geometry Name.
Important:
The beam must be positioned outside of the body or head.
Otherwise there will be no light output in the visualization!
  • Enter the length, width, and height of the beam in Geometry size.
  • Select New Cylinder as the model from the Select Model list.
  • Select Beam as the Geometry type from the dropdown menu.
  • Define the properties of the beam geometry according to the par can.
  • Click OK. The geometry is added in the layout view.
Hint: 
Use a template to speed up the definition process.
  • To go back to the Start Page, click the Home icon.
  • Select the fixture template Conventional or LED PAR from the fixture templates.
  • Replace the default values with the values of your par can.
